How long does it take to make a custom suit?

A custom suit typically takes 6–8 weeks from your initial appointment to final delivery.

This timeline allows for precise measuring, production, a second fitting, and final in-house tailoring.

After your second fitting, final tailoring usually takes 1–2 weeks, and then your suit is ready to wear.

Why Does a Custom Suit Take 6–8 Weeks?

Unlike off-the-rack clothing, a custom suit is made specifically for your body and posture.

At Bespoke Edge, your timeline includes:

  1. Initial Appointment (Week 0)
Measurements, posture analysis, fabric selection, and design decisions.
  2. Production (Weeks 1–5)
Your suit is constructed using your unique pattern.
  3. Second Fitting (Around Week 5–6)
We refine the fit based on how the garment sits on your body in real life.
  4. Final Tailoring (1–2 Weeks)
In-house alterations ensure clean lines, balance, and comfort.

This process ensures the suit fits your body. Not just your measurements.

Can a Custom Suit Be Made Faster?

Yes. With some limitations.

At Bespoke Edge, we offer rush options for clients working on tighter timelines:

  • Rush Service: 4–6 weeks (additional fee)
  • Express Rush: Just over 30 days (limited availability)

Rush timelines can depend on:

  • Time of year (wedding season is busiest)
  • Fabric availability
  • How quickly fittings can be scheduled

The best way to keep things moving quickly is to schedule your second fitting as soon as your suit arrives, which helps avoid unnecessary delays.

How Early Should I Order a Wedding Suit?

For grooms, we recommend allowing 2.5–3 months whenever possible.

Weddings are high-priority garments, and extra time allows flexibility for refinements, comfort leading up to the big day, and peace of mind.

If your wedding date is closer, we do offer rush wedding suit options that can be completed in just over 45 days.

If you’re unsure whether your timeline works, reach out. We’ll be honest with you.

Is 6–8 Weeks Normal for a Custom Suit?

Yes. Most true custom or bespoke garments require multiple fittings and production time.

If someone promises a “custom suit” in 1–2 weeks, it’s typically off-the-rack with alterations or limited pattern modification.

True custom garments take time, and that time is what creates the fit difference.
