Why we do what we do

I was recently reminded that us guys can sometimes have a hard time asking for help.

What happened was that an acquaintance of mine was working on creating a seminar to help young men succeed. Despite putting together some great content, the event fell flat. I’ve spent some time thinking about this and I’ve come to realize that it is just another expression of what I’ll call INAFDH – I’m Not Asking For Directions, Honey.

It’s no secret that us guys don’t really like asking for directions (and today with our smart phones we never have to again!!). I’ll hold back the reins and I won’t take you down a long dirt road on male psychology, but suffice it to say, we have a tendency to think we already know everything. Especially guy stuff.

Grilling a T-bone may be hardwired onto the DNA of every man, but sadly not driving directions, recipe substitutions or – menswear.

This brings me to BE and what we do.

Indeed, we sell menswear, but it’s really a byproduct of what our passion is:

That’s the purpose of the BE blog. It’s an outlet for us to teach. It’s also a platform for discussion. And philosophically, it’s an extension of what Ron has done for 37 years – helping guys look their best.
